Fans of Sturm der Liebe can expect plenty of twists and devious intrigues as the 21st season brings fresh faces to the Fürstenhof. Katharina Scheuba, who has already been part of the cast for several weeks, is set to take on the role of Maxi Neubach, a new leading lady in the soap opera. Maxi, a doctor facing a professional crisis after losing her medical license, finds herself in a stroke of luck when Werner Saalfeld generously offers her 10% of his shares in the Fürstenhof. This leads to her discovering an old approval for operating a casino.
Alongside Maxi, two more new characters make their entrance: Henry Sydow, played by Elias Reichert, and the manipulative Sophia Wagner, portrayed by Krista Birkner. As the story unfolds, Maxi meets Henry at a roulette table, but after their encounter, he mysteriously disappears. However, they cross paths again at the luxurious hotel, and it’s revealed that Henry has a shadowy past he is keeping hidden from Maxi and others. His secrets pose a danger not only to Maxi but to the entire Fürstenhof.
But it’s Sophia Wagner who is set to become the show’s new villain. According to sources, Sophia is involved in criminal activities that bring to mind the dark days of Barbara von Heidenberg’s reign. The producers have even hinted that Sophia’s character is inspired by Clarissa von Anstetten from Verbotene Liebe, a role originally played by Isa Jank. This move was intentionally made by producer Marcus Ammon, who sought a similarly strong antagonist for the new season.
